Jesus actually had quite a bit to say about money. Money can easily become an idol if we aren’t careful. Money can easily corrupt even the most honorable person. But money is necessary to live in the natural world. Let’s look at what Jesus says about money:
Matthew 23:23 says “woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, pretenders (hypocrites)! For you give a tenth of your mint and dill and cumin and have neglected and omitted the weightier (more important) matters of the Law–right and justice and mercy and fidelity. These you ought [particularly] to have done, without neglecting the others.”
Notice it’s NOT the money Jesus is interested in. It’s the HEART. What good is giving your tithes to the house of God while you are living wickedly? What does He mean here? Jesus is exalting Agape Love above obedience in tithing. What good is tithing when you don’t obey Him in the Love Walk? It’s futile, empty, self-serving. A clanging cymbal. What did Paul say in I Corinthians 13:1? “If I can speak in the tongues of men and even of angels, but have not love, I am only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.” He continues in verse 3 “Even if I dole out all that I have to the poor in providing food, and if I surrender my body to be burned or in order that I may glory, but have not love (God’s love in me), I GAIN NOTHING.”
Under the Law of Moses, there were strict requirements for tithing and giving offerings. But what about life under the New Covenant? The Covenant we now live under as Christians? What did the Early Church Believers do? Did they tithe? Let’s look at it.
In Acts 2, we see that after Peter had boldly preached the Gospel after they were filled with the Holy Spirit, three thousand people came into the Kingdom under the New Covenant that day. Verse 41 says “Therefore those who accepted and welcomed his message were baptized, and there were added that day about 3,000 souls.” So what did they do then? Did they return to their Jewish traditions? NO! They changed their whole lifestyle.
Verse 42 says “And they steadfastly persevered, devoting themselves constantly to the instruction and fellowship of the apostles, to the breaking of bread [including the Lord’s Supper] and prayers.” ~ Their entire lives revolved around God. He was at the very core of their existence. Look at the powerful words that describe their lifestyles: “steadfast, perseverance, devotion, constantly.” They died to their old lives and began to LIVE FOR JESUS CHRIST. Just like they were supposed to do.
Verse 44 says “And all who believed (who adhered to and trusted in and relied on Jesus Christ) were united and [together] they had everything in common.” ~ They “had everything in common.” The early church believers were so unified, that they literally put all they had in one pot to share. They were a family and they acted like it. The Law of Moses REQUIRED ten percent but the New Covenant inspires ONE HUNDRED percent. The Agape Love of God inspired them to not value their lives, even unto death. Amazing.
Verse 45 continues “And they sold their possessions (both their landed property and their movable goods) and distributed the price among all, according as any had need.” ~ They LIVED Jesus’ heart about money. Money was just a tool to bless people. The believers did not bow to Mammon. Money didn’t have them. Their hearts were not tied to it. What freedom!
Verse 46 says “And day after day they regularly assembled in the temple with united purpose, and in their homes, they broke bread [including the Lord’s Supper]. They partook of their food with gladness and simplicity and generous hearts.” ~ They shared everything. They helped one another get out of debt, they shared their food, their homes and whatever else the brethren may have need of. That is Agape LOVE in action.
What is the point of this short teaching? Don’t love money and “blessings” more than God. Don’t use these prayers to “get” something from God. Seeking His hand or what He can give you, without seeking His face or His presence, is not pleasing to Him. These prayers will be effective ONLY to those who truly love Him and are standing on His promises for provisions. NOT WEALTH, but provisions. It is the heart that God looks at. God brings wealth to those to whom He can trust with wealth. The love of money is the root of all evil. It’s easy to flunk the prosperity test. People grow spiritually in persecution, but in prosperity, that is where the rubber meets the road in loyalty to Jesus. The New Covenant is all about being 100% sold out to Jesus. Not 10% but everything if necessary.
I’m going to assume at this point that you love the Lord with all your heart. You have surrendered your life to His Lordship, and like the early church, money doesn’t have you. The Bible is full of promises for provisions. God’s blessings inevitably multiply everything in your life, including finances. IF you are in a right relationship with Him. This is key because if your motive is wrong, the following prayers are just words on a screen. Nothing will change in your circumstances. The motive is to make a righteous demand on the resources of Heaven to be released into your realm of influence (i.e. your finances).

I can only share what I do when I am in need of provisions. I have an intimate partnership with the Lord. I know who I am in Him. I understand my authority and what my benefits are in the Kingdom realm. Because I have cultivated this relationship and learned who I am in Christ, I can confidently pray these prayers and EXPECT my circumstances to change….and they DO change.
I encourage you to examine your relationship with Jesus Christ. If you are coming to Him in a desperate situation and you either don’t know Him or barely know Him, then praying these prayers won’t help you because you probably aren’t confident enough in Him to BELIEVE the impossible. Believing is tied to trust and trust is developed in a personal and intimate relationship. Provisions are privileges in the Kingdom of God and you can only enter through repentance of sins and surrendering to the Lordship of Jesus Christ by following Him wholeheartedly. I just want to make this clear to everyone who comes to this page.
THE THRONE OF GRACE
Take your requests to the Throne of Grace and tell Abba Father the situation.
Father, I come to You and before Your Throne of Grace in the Name of Jesus Christ. I come on the basis of the shed blood of Jesus Christ and as Your child. Father, Your Word promises that I can come boldly to Your Throne of Grace for help in time of trouble. Your Word also promises that when I ask anything according to Your will, I can be confident that You hear me and want to help me. Your promise says that it is Your good pleasure to give me the Kingdom and all that it entails and I claim that promises today in Jesus’ Name!
Father, I give You praise and honor and humble thanksgiving for all You have done for me. Thank You for Jesus blood. Thank You for setting me free to love You! I thank You for being my Father, for supplying ALL my needs according to Your riches in glory, through my Lord Jesus Christ. Thank You, Father, that because You own the cattle on a thousand hills, and we are in the New Covenant, that I can come and make a draw on Your resources because they are also my resources!
Father, today I want to talk to You about a situation I am in that needs Your help. (NOW TELL ABBA FATHER ABOUT YOUR SITUATION. POUR YOUR HEART OUT TO HIM NOW.)
Father, thank You for hearing my situation and attending to my heart’s cries for Your help. Father, I ask that You examine my heart now and see if there is any evil way in me. Help me and guide me in Your ways.
Father, I repent of ______________________________, and ask You to forgive me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Create in me a clean heart that I might not sin against you. I now come out of agreement with this sin and refuse to participate in it anymore. I release the Blood of Jesus into this situation and decree that it be made brand new by You Father.
MAKING A DRAW ON THE RESOURCES OF HEAVEN
Jesus paid for our provisions. That is part of “Sozos” salvation. It’s a package deal. It is there for you to access, but it can’t be accessed with active sin in your life, or if you are not born-again. So after you make sure you are in right standing with the Lord, you can make a “draw” on the resources of Heaven.
“Father, thank You for the authority given to me by Jesus. I stand in my authority and I make a draw on the resources of Heaven be released into my realm of influence in the Name of Jesus Christ.”
Release Your Ministering Spirit (Angel)
We have a ministering spirit that is assigned to us and we can ask him to go into the earth and bring in provisions or help. It is a simple decree that is done. It is NOT angel worship. The Bible says “are they not ministering spirits, sent to help the children of God?” Adam was created right under God in authority level. Satan stole it; Jesus got it back and now Believers are once again right under God in authority level. So with that being said, you can make decrees to your ministering spirit to go into the earth and bring provisions to you according to what is aligned with God’s Word. For example, you can’t order your ministering spirit to go to the liquor store and get a bottle of whiskey. It doesn’t work that way. The Word says “drunkards don’t enter the Kingdom of Heaven” and “be not drunk with wine wherein there is excess.” But you can ask for say $100 extra to pay a bill when you lost income that week. That has happened to me and God took care of it through the ministering spirit.
Father, I thank You for giving Your angels charge over me! What a wonderful blessing You are to me! I now speak to my ministering spirit and decree that I have need of _________________. Be released into the earth to bring in the provisions needed for this need. Thank You, Jesus, for Your wonderful sacrifice to give me the authority to live victoriously all the days of my life!”
FAITH AND THANKSGIVING
Faith is what you BELIEVE. If you have prayed these prayers in faith and you believe that God has moved in your situation, then begin to thank Him out of your heart. Then continue to thank Him every day even though you don’t see the provisions come yet. If you really believe it, you can’t be moved by an apparent delay.
Father, thank You for all You do for me! There is no one else like You! Thank you for sending Jesus to save me and thank You for providing _____________________! You truly are the Yea and the Amen! In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen and Amen!
