Promise of the Children

“And He called a little child to Himself and put him in the midst of them, and said, Truly I say to you, unless you repent (change, turn about) and become like little children [trusting, lowly, loving, forgiving), you can never enter the kingdom of heaven at all.  Whoever will humble himself therefore and become like this little child is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

And whoever receives and accepts and welcomes one little child like this for My sake and in My name receives and accepts and welcomes Me.  But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in and acknowledge and cleave to Me to stumble and sin [that is, who entices him or hinders him in right conduct or thought]; it would  be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be sunk in the depth of the sea.” (Matthew 18:2-6)

According to Jesus Christ, the prerequisite to enter the kingdom of heaven is to become like a little child.  A child is trusting, not prideful–humble, loving and forgives easily.  Children are pliable.  It is so easy for a child the believe the impossible, because the impossible is not reality yet.  They can believe for the impossible to be possible.  Jesus tells us that we too must have that mindset of all things being possible for those who believe.

Children are humble.  They don’t have the concept of prideful thinking because life is very simple to them.  If Mama and Daddy say it then it must be true is their motto.  We, as the children of God must look at Him the same way: if God said it then I believe it should be OUR motto!

How many of us know that there are evil, perverse people out there who love to hurt children?  We see it on the news all the time.  Children being used in heinous ways that are too horrible to even say.  Causing their lives to derail into evil.  The plans that God has for them hindered or stopped altogether.  Similarly, we see evil false teachers have crept into the church, who are causing God’s children to falter and stumble and sin.  Leading them off into gross error.  Their reward from the Lord is not going to be good.

The children of God, those who still love Him, still believe His Word is true, still are looking for His appearing and whose souls are vexed at the evil all around us–we must be in prayer for our brothers and sisters who are stumbling and faltering because of false teachings and doctrines of devils being spouted as truth.

Now more than ever, God needs our prayers!  He needs our child-like faith in Him to be stronger than ever.  O Lord help us to be faithful to You during these vexing times.  Help us to help others to see the truth and reality of You!

Blessings everyone…
