The Test of Faith

“Though the fig tree does not blossom and there is no fruit on the vines, though the product of the olive fails and the fields yield no food, though the flock is cut off from the fold and there are no cattle in the stalls, YET I will rejoice in the Lord; I will exult in the victorious God of my salvation!

The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like hinds’ feet and will make me to walk, [not to stand in terror, but to walk] and make spiritual progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering or responsibility]!” (Habakkuk 3:17-19)

Like anything else, our faith will be tested.  Who tests it?  The enemy will definitely test it and God observes this testing and helps us withstand it.  Why doesn’t He just fix it?  Because He wants us to be strong.  Any new product that is made is tested in a variety of ways and adjustments are made to ensure it is of the best quality before it is marketed.  Cars, for example, are crash tested to see how it will handle impacts.

Jesus never promised us a rose garden.  He said YOU WILL HAVE tribulations and trials but be cheerful because HE has overcome the world.  I am right now, living this scripture out.  Peter got out of the boat and began walking on the water to Jesus.  If he would have kept his eyes on Jesus, both of them would have walked on the water to the other side of the Sea of Galilee.

We too, come to places in our lives where we have to get out of the boat and walk on the water.  If we keep our eyes fixed on Him, we’ll stay on top of the water.  The test comes when your fig tree doesn’t blossom and your folds are cut off and you have $4.00 in the bank with bills coming in.  The waves can look a hundred feet high sometimes.

However, no matter how big our waves are, they are NOT bigger than our God!  He is the One who says “Peace!  Be Still!”  You can walk all the way to the other side on top of the water if you keep your eyes on Him.

I’m taking it one day at a time.  Jesus said “take no thought for tomorrow” and this is so true.  I have to zoom into to today and not look past it.  Today, I have more than enough and tomorrow I will too because He is faithful.  He is always faithful.

I pray today that whatever storm you are facing, that you will fix your eyes on Jesus and walk with Him to the other side.

Don’t know Him?

Meet Jesus Here…

Blessings everyone…
